Poulet (2nd Visit)

First time going to Great World City!

 It has lots of restaurants and seem like mostly only the rich people can come here, cause there isn;t a direct mrt stations mostly people come here by car or shuttle bus..

This is my second visit to Poulet, just because I had this terrible craving for chicken! 

(pok pok keh & i know they serve half chicken! hahahah).

First up, the Fries ($4.80)

wanted to order truffle fries but oh well they don't serve them, so here is it.

hmm pretty normal in my opinion, the fries are mostly crispy type~

If you like crispy fries this is for you, I prefer fries with both the soggy and ard/crispy ones.

the quantity was pretty okay for about 2-3pax!

Here comes the main- Poulet half Rosti ($15.80)

The Chicken was really good, really tender and even for a person like me who don't fancy cream-base spaghetti find this dish pretty good. 

But honestly, I am someone who doesn't like to cut my food, and this has bones so it was rather tedius for me to eat :( boohoo but well it's still yummy!

If only there is a side of mash potato would be perfect!

Last of all, who ca resist not to order the famous Tiramisu in a jar ($7.80)

there's is always something about eating tirsmisu right from a jar, if only they have takeaway service, I think it will be a bestseller here! If only I could eat this in front of the television~

but on the other hand sometimes I feel like I am eating too much cream whenever i eat this, too sinful!

So order this and share it with someone, it's pretty worthwhile for the portion as well!

Overall the service was okay but need to inform the waiter to give us water. 

Personally I feel that serving water should be the basic etiquette? Especially so if the customers are paying for service charge. Raised my hand once to get my water.. 

But he came back with just a cup, I do understand from his point of view cause water is chargeable at Poulet but it should be rather a basic question to ask customer would they like to have any drink while waiting for the food.

Satisfied my chicky craving awesome but somehow the tiramisu didn't taste as good as the first time I bought it (maybe I wasn't feeling that hungry? Or is the ladyfinger too soggy?/ P/s ladyfinger is the biscuit-like thingy you find at the middle of the tiramisu)

My Verdict: 

I would say for a beginner, Level 3 is pretty manageable for me.

If you are not one of those that usually eat spicy food, you may find level 3 your kind of standard..

Hehehe for me, I am someone who loves to add lots of chili in my Ban Mian hahaha

this place is definitely a good place to challenge your friends,

there is a total of up to 35 Levels :O yes omgawd!

hahahaah they serve ice water too!

But in their menu, there's milk.

You must be wondering why would a pub sells milk? hahhaha

my friend told me drinking milk is better than water if it's really spicy..

Anyway, we are good with just ice water~

The portion of the fries is pretty huge, really worth the $5!!

& well the taste of the wings was a little heavy for me, i prefer honey glazed or fried...

so yeah I can't really sescribe the taste but it has a mixture of bbq/spice/lemon or lime.

Try it for yourself!!

& best par there is no extra service charges, so yayy!

Oh yes, this place starts operting from 4pm onward, don't worry if you're too early!

You can always have the other food first while waiting for this store to open!

How true, it's what we do each day, the decisions we make makes us us.

Where we come from doesn't matter, although sometimes it does affects your decisions to do certain things at certain point of our lives, like how we cannot do this or that due to some family commitment  etc.

But afterall, we will always have time for ourselves.

& doing what we like is really important for the soul and our heart (:

it's was good reallyy! I love how the cream cheese taste a little sour and it really complement the blueberry muffins below, so it's not too sweet!

& of course my all time fav, Chocolate Chocolate~!

Made my own soup \y brunh! Really been into eating healthier lately.

I mean of course I still eat-out but I try to order things that are not too heavy~

No oil or MSG just a pinch of salt ~ 

it's always gonna be healthy Sunday (fingers crossed, no temptation on Sundays)

I even borrowed mags reading up on fitness & nutrition etc..

How I wish my mom allows me to use the oven/ stir fry

& if you don't know I am a big fan of

& yes, my friend actually got me a box of these from Japan...

Really touched, I thought she'll give me a few but not the entire box!

ok well, there's only 8 inside but it's strawberryyyy flavoured  (*_*)y

y'all know the thing about Japanese food, they look so exquisite, wrapped and presented so neatly 

it's almost as if all their food are ready to be gifted to your friends without even having the hassle to wrap it, cause it's already wrapped...

mag + strawberries + mini strawberry cake~

Oh well, so we head to The Factory, heard there is a variety dips for fries..

we walked from Serangoon MRT, if you don't like to walk I recommend you to take a bus, cause it's not exactly near, but I am fine with walking :)

1. Tendoori Chicken Wrap $11.90
Decided to go for skinny fries with the curry mustard aioli

   

chicken wrapped in basil wrap..
seem to me that the wrap has been sort of fried/ grilled before serving.
cause usually wraps are dry but this has a little oily texture to it,
Well, I would say it wasn't what I was expecting, the chicken somehow taste like vegetarian chicken.
& I was hoping it will have a more bbq flavored/ teriyaki taste to it
 the chicken slices was generous no doubt~

the sauce was really curry curry, a little mustard aftertaste.
Not spicy at all, so you can try this even if you don't take chili

2. Spaghetti with minced chicken $13.90

alongside with Spicy Tomato Chinchalok as the sauce, it's a little spicy and sour at the same time, 
lighter version of what I got, it can get a little too spicy for me awhile...

preferred this to my wrap! cause it kind of taste like the homely cooked spaghetti! (:

It's nett priced and a really good place to chill out on a Friday,

It was surprisingly empty and spacious, we sat on a long bench, so it's definitely a place for big group to hang out. A place away from the noise & city!

Service was pretty good, the waitress was polite to us, there is a counter to fill water and napkins and sauce

the serving of the fries was pretty generous too ^^

I would say a place is better for their Ambiance > food.

If you are an adventure seeker, you can come over to taste the unique flavored dips!

But here's something to be honest, I felt that the entire shop was a little too bare and empty, looked really plain, I know the difference between simplicity and being plain.. So I'll suggest a little more deco and effort from them... like adding some designs on the wall just to have that cozier feeling. No doubt the entrance of the cafe look pretty enticing but it was a little bare on the inside~

& another thing, the sauce is something new to me, so I actually preferred the usual chili & ketchup more...I guess one reason could be the sauce are a little more heavier (like curry taste really too curry-ish and end up being a little dry imo )

Overall, okay definitely room for improvement, haven't tried their waffle or ice-cream yet, heard it's pretty popular there...
