F O O D C O M A: September 2015

Hello there,

Apologies for the lack of updates here.
Well it's been awhile, been to so many places & cafes for the past 1 year or so?
Basically I'll include some pictures of some of the places that I've been to that I would recommend!
Not in any order!
(Sorry for the grainy/dull pics, didn't really had time to edit pics, so pls pardon the 'raw' pics alright!)

Here goes:

#1: CARPENTER & COOK

Really love the quaint interior & the displays that gives the really vintage vibes..
From the flooring to the beautifully-tiered pastries display.
I mean what's not to love right?
They also serve their pastries in lovely teacups and the best part? They do sell them too! Well if you're keen you can always approach the staff over the counter to get 'em gorgeous teacups & plates~
Food wise:
Mmm I love their Passion Fruit Meringue Tart hands down!
Their tiramisu was pretty okayy oh yes the tea was good too! :)

#2. MAISON IKKOKU

I recalled we did had a hard time locating this place, because it was just along the alley of shop-houses, so do keep your eyes open for this place. But it's definitely quite easy to locate if you're popping over for a weekend brunch! (hahah the crowds and all~)
Right, back to the main point, the place serves not-so-cheap breakfast but damn they do a it quite similar to Wild Honey! yes, not kidding, but on a humid day, I'd still prefer to go WIld Honey for their stronger air-con~ lol

#3. BAKER & COOK

For the avid bread lovers or maybe the traditional english breakfast people~

This place gives me the not-so-cafe style dining, this one was taken at the Holland Village Branch.

Had this right after an exam, much need break!

I had the pancakes and my friend got the omelette...

I;m sure even if you're not a fan of bread you might just get hooked smelling and looking the oh-so-perf rows of croissants, muffins and the aroma lingers on~

A hint of sweet cinnamon and fresh bread from the oven, & even a whiff of omelette~

I'm a sucker for pancakes, I love pancakes so bad.

The one at McDonald just doesn't do any justice, I mean just look at what they serve, yes circular shaped but lacked the fluff~

Here at Baker & Cook, this pancake is serve with a dollop of Greek yogurt (my perfect kinda topping) & encircled with the dash of toffee sauce!

Sandwiched in-between the pancakes are caramelized apple that didnt taste too sweet!

If only they could add a serving of fresh berries, I'm sold (but too bad, presentation wise, def needs more improvements!)

Omelette was good too, substantial but might be a tad too pricey imo.

S$16 for a platter of omelette with toast >.< but if you're craving for your daily dose of protein, S$16 is worth it for the hungry people~

Loving the ambience, kinda laid back feeling.

You see private properties & angmohs okay plus the heat from the Sun~

#4. REAL FOOD

This place serve the best vegan dumpling that I've ever eaten.
I love how the texture of it taste like xiao long bao, ok not relaly but yeah you get me the wanton skin is good, not to mention the really shiok mix of the fillings inside the dumpling itself!
Mix the smell of chinse mushrooms, chives, and many more ingredients all nicely diced into perfect balls of yummy dumplings!
I can eat this every week! Falling for their sweet chillis too!

#5. UDDERS

At the end of the day, I'll always return here for their mao shan wang & dark choc for a sinful treat!

Well maybe I haven't tried many, but one thing for sure, at least Udders is relatively more convenient than most cafes, quality is more assured after operating for years right?

I mean afterall, we all need is a little treat to cheer ourselves up with one or two company.

Cafe isn't always gonna work out for lazy day! :)
