The Bravery

THE BRAVERY

Backed with yet another cafe that everyone has been raving about.
Well, all cafes are pretty much doing well I assume, with more and more people become one of those "cafe-hoppers" right? Hahahahaha.
-----
At a glance, this is what we ordered:

1. Lavender Latte ($5.80)
This is one of the more popular latte most people come for,
it was a little aromatic, perhaps due to the lavender on the top, I quite like floral tea myself, so this was a plus. Too bad, I am not really a fan of coffee, unless it's mocha >.<
However my friend said it was pretty normal and overrated,
GIve it a try, a cup won't harm right? :)

Next up, 2. Pancakes $15.00
This is pretty much a must-order here at The Bravery.
Needless to say, it really didn't disappoint me at all, the pancakes took a longer while to serve but it was good.
Fluffy and the portion was pretty manageable, I love how it is drizzled with maple and some honey!
yummz ^^
It's one of my favourite pancakes to-date! Love their presentation as well!
For the portion, the price is slightly steep, but it is definitely worth a try!
I love pancakes for breakfast don't you?!

3. Eggs on Toast + Salmon + Avocado ($8+5+2.50)
This is pretty much a mix-and-mix so all we had to do is to order Eggs on Toast & you can choose from the list of sides available to add into your toast!
I love wholegrain bread, don;t you?

So if you are over at Farrer Park/ Jalan Besar vicinity, be sure to pop by The Bravery.
It's only a few mins from the Window by the Windowsill cafe!
It's opposite the stadium, but the door (it's tinted with no obvious signboard to show where exactly The Bravery is, so keep your eyes open and look!) of this place is kinda hard to spot for first-timer!
Weekdays are perfect to come here cause it's much mroe quieter while weekends you might have to wait a while to get your seats!
Decoration was pretty rustic & old-school.
More cafes review up next~!!

POTEATO - Sunday Brunch

Went over to the famous Yong Siak Street Area for some brunch!
the convenience of having a car~
---
There was quite a few cafe over that little lane
Including Fourty Hands & Social Haus
But we decided to go for this because it is less crowded & seem to be more affordable than the rest?
in case you are wondering, it's right at the corner beside Fourty Hands Cafe
There are a few tables on the outside as well~

The Interior when you first step in, I like how it is mostly tiled w bricks & that rustic look from the walls.
---
View from the counter, it's a self-service concept.
You decide what you are gonna eat > make payment > take your cutlery/ peppers/ sauces/ water from the little station (on the left-side of the pic below)
who doesn't love potatoes?!
The extensive types of potatoess!!!
 Brunch Menu~

---
What we ate at a glance:
-----
1. Tofu Potato Cakes ($14.00)
---
it's 2 palm sized golden ball of fried potato + tofu!
if you like fried food you can choose this, serving portion not very big but just nice for the not so hungry people~
It's also served with a small side of avocados and some cherry tomatoes
---

a side of tomatoes & avocados~

2. All American ($16.00)
---
I ordered this, cause I was rlly hungryyyy
I know, it's the usual big breakfast kinda food but I enjoy eating these simple food on a weekend~
Just the right amount of carbs/ protein/ some minereals i guess from the shroom~
Look it's 2 sunny side up~
& of course some diced potatoes!
i like the shrooms & bread though, bread is below the eggs~

-----
Ambience is good, not too noisy & it wasn't really packed...
Good for family/ group of 4 friends to get together!
--
However, I must say the wait for the food is honestly a tad too slow,
I mean it wasn't food house so I really don;t know what took so long for them to prepare it...
My All American was served like after 40 minutes after I ordered?
It came much later than the tofu cakes :(
Hopefully they can be more efficient next time~
-----

Verdict:
It's pretty okay, I mena i really liked the idea of potato but meh
Not exactly good good (the food) but it's not too bad either considering the presentation & ambience which is pretty good, not too crowded
but not the waiting time....a little disappointed on that~
Well maybe next time,  I will try their side dish (potatoes fries etc)
On a side note I do like their rendition of potatoes + tofu combination, which is pretty new.
