My Awesome Cafe

My Awesome Cafe

Hey there, been busy working which explains why this space has been much neglected, but don't worry I have more new cafes to share with you guys!
-----
Yes, this time it's all about the greens~!
It's been awhile since I last ate a decent salad, miss the ones at amoy oh god.
Hopped over to Telok Ayer for some awesome dinner!
Pretty interesting concept eh?
Yes, you've probably would have walked right past this cafe without even realising it is actually a cafe to begin with!
Okay so here is the menu, it's a really old school/ vintage kinda cafe.
& ironically they don't serve chinese food.
the interior of the cafe, the rustic look
& the old school tables, and the napkins were carefully folded like calligraphy papers!
Oh how I miss my secondary school days
& now after we order our food, as usual I'll walked around the shop floor tryna take pics to show your guys, I always appear like some weirdo taking pic of everything haha don;t judge me.
Now pick a glass, they have it in all shapes & sizes!
& of course, fill you glass with some water!
hahaha yes, this is the water dispenser! how cool, looked like some ancient holy water or sort eh?
& here is where they prepare the salads~!
Yes, the bread & pudding is tempting me so badly, ughhh
they look so chewy and good
more brownies & Bread&pudding~
It cost about $4-5 per slice, it was pretty steep imo, for the small slice of pastry~
Decide to give it a miss cause we were too full after the salad.
Yes, we were actually feeling really full after the salad!
-----
So here is the MY AWESOME SALAD ($15.00)
It was an incredibly large bowl of salad!
Lotsa greens packed with lotsa proteins too
Quite amazed at the generosity and portion given
We had a hearty meal indeed!
Breaking it down:
How awesome is this, so good! You name it they have it!
Well maybe if they offer eggs to replace one other protein will be even better!
I am sucker for having eggs in my salad!
-----
The place on a weekday was not too crowded, a good place to unwind,
Especially so if you are working nearby the CBD Area.
It is conveniently located near Amoy Food Centre/ Telok Ayer MRT station as well!
Hope over for your daily greens & eat clean!
Makes me feel healthier altogether!
-----
Another commendable thing about this cafe is that even the toilet are decorated, at least I see some efforts even in the toilet.
not sure if it was originally like that but the basins tap was like some old school pipe & I actually didn't know how to use them *face palm* so I ended up washing my hands at the nearby basins (normal) tap. Din't manage to take photo cause my phone wasn't with me.
Go have some fun at the tap in the toilet yeah!
---
What's more they operate till late on most days!
A good place to chill after work for those working at he CBD area!
Staff was pretty friendly as well! Good job! :)

xx

Flor Patisserie

Flor Patisserie

Hopped over to Duxton Hill for some sweets, it was roughly 3/4pm-ish when we were here,
There is indoor seating but it was full so we sat on the little stool outside.
It was shaded area phew, what a Sunny day in Sg.
Why os the weather becoming so warm again!

Look it's the mini van delivering some strawberiess heheheh so cute!
& Spot our cakes ^^

1. First up, Napoleon $7.20
This was good! It has 2 crispy piece on each side,
the inside of the cake taste like strawberry shortcake!
Defnitely for the berries lover, really light and refreshing!
They do serve berries berries as well (if you are looking for a simple berry cake),
but this was a little more special with the crust on the outside!

2. Earl Grey ($6.95)
Topped with earl grey cream on top, it wasn't too dense.
A faint smell of earl grey, with a banana in the middle, which came as a pleasant surprise to us.
We wasn't expecting any fruits here well maybe some berries!
It was refreshing to have the banana together with the earl grey cream.
The base of the cake was choc i guess it's soft and yummy too!
Recommend this for the adventure seeker, we couldn't finish the cream ><

Overall, I would say their cakes are pretty exquisite, just look at how the cakes are so carefully arranged.
For the value wise, I can understand why these little cakes are slightly on the steeper side,
I am guessing it's the ingredients they used and the cakes was really soft & fresh too!
-----
Might pop by for a visit again to try their tarts, seemed really tempting too!
& maybe a slice of strawberry cake for myself.
A great place to chill & have some not-so-sinful hightea ( the portion is not too overwhelming per slice)!
-----
Do note that the place isn't that big so a group of 4-6 is better in case you can't find seats
Love how their cakes look so effortlessly yummy!

xx.

Drury lane

Drury Lane

Back with a new cafe just around Tanjong Pagar!
Came here for dinner after work! It was not exactly easy to find be sure to keep your eyes open for this red door!
I was pleasantly surprised that there is 2 level to this cafe, it was peaceful & nice,
definitely a place to chill/date ^^

they serve dessert too, but we were too full to try these~

& Level 2

Without further ado, this is what we had
-
-
Drumroll pleasee:

1. The Big 94 ($14.00/ nett)
you got it, it's nett price for this huge platter of beacon strips, mushrooms, (very generous portion) scrambled eggs, homemade baked beans and the hearty grained toast!!
The toast was also slightly heated to give it a crunchy bite

2. 94 Goes Green ($13.00/nett)
This is what I ordered! I love love whole-grained bread, & I paired it with sunny-side up eggs
Have advocado in exchange for the beacons strips, healthier choice!

-----
Overall, this is definitely a place I want to come back again.
The value and the price was pretty reasonable & the fact that it is nett priced is definitely a plus point!
The food was good too! Simple all-day breakfast but it's really a satisfying meal! Thumbs up!
I love the bread and the handmade baked beans, so good!
---
This place served one of the best and satisfying all day breakfast hand down,
considering the price and the portion, you can really give this a try!!
Another awesome place for some all-day breakfast would definitely be the Toby's Estate!
Ravenousmee says thumbs up! :)

The Factory

it's TGIF! been having s serious craving for potluck but my friend didn't want to...
Oh well, so we head to The Factory, heard there is a variety dips for fries..
we walked from Serangoon MRT, if you don't like to walk I recommend you to take a bus, cause it's not exactly near, but I am fine with walking :)

---
old school menu on the Graph Paper,
wow when was the last time I plotted a graph, hmm...
X-axis, Y-axis, Line of best fit,curved, tangent #secschoolmemories #Emaths #nostalgic
sorrry for the hashtags hahaahaha

---
What we ordered:

---
1. Tendoori Chicken Wrap $11.90
Decided to go for skinny fries with the curry mustard aioli

chicken wrapped in basil wrap..
seem to me that the wrap has been sort of fried/ grilled before serving.
cause usually wraps are dry but this has a little oily texture to it,
Well, I would say it wasn't what I was expecting, the chicken somehow taste like vegetarian chicken.
& I was hoping it will have a more bbq flavored/ teriyaki taste to it
the chicken slices was generous no doubt~
the sauce was really curry curry, a little mustard aftertaste.
Not spicy at all, so you can try this even if you don't take chili

-----
2. Spaghetti with minced chicken $13.90

alongside with Spicy Tomato Chinchalok as the sauce, it's a little spicy and sour at the same time,
lighter version of what I got, it can get a little too spicy for me awhile...

generous amount of spaghetti and sausages~
preferred this to my wrap! cause it kind of taste like the homely cooked spaghetti! (:
Simple and yummy
Heinz Ketchup!

It's nett priced and a really good place to chill out on a Friday,
It was surprisingly empty and spacious, we sat on a long bench, so it's definitely a place for big group to hang out. A place away from the noise & city!
Service was pretty good, the waitress was polite to us, there is a counter to fill water and napkins and sauce
the serving of the fries was pretty generous too ^^
I would say a place is better for their Ambiance > food.
If you are an adventure seeker, you can come over to taste the unique flavored dips!
----
But here's something to be honest, I felt that the entire shop was a little too bare and empty, looked really plain, I know the difference between simplicity and being plain.. So I'll suggest a little more deco and effort from them... like adding some designs on the wall just to have that cozier feeling. No doubt the entrance of the cafe look pretty enticing but it was a little bare on the inside~
& another thing, the sauce is something new to me, so I actually preferred the usual chili & ketchup more...I guess one reason could be the sauce are a little more heavier (like curry taste really too curry-ish and end up being a little dry imo )
Overall, okay definitely room for improvement, haven't tried their waffle or ice-cream yet, heard it's pretty popular there...

& &&
We hopped over back to Nex Mall for some Andersen!
& mine in pink ^^

Goodnight Folks.

The Coffee Daily

The Coffee Daily

Decided to meet up with ma girls on the eve of Xmas~
it was a pretty last min decision, but at least I know where they are located at...
Headed here for some high tea!
hahahaha who says you gotta have log cakes for Xmas?

the array of teas

& what would tea be without some cakes!!~
& the legendary rainbow cake! :D
it's a pretty small cafe with chairs lined quite closely to each other~

& yes we sat around this corner with these vintage seats? hahahaha
we shared all these, minus the drinks!
yes all the sugars & calories!
Loving their caramel latte~

Chocolate Truffle Cake ($6.50)
this was pretty good! it's like mousse like texture &
what I love most would be the layer of waffle crisp on the bottom layer!
lookin' spongy~
Carrot Cake!
It was moist and fragrant but not the best around...

Next, the Chocolate Lava Cake!
yumyum the choc ozoing out~
really sinful but good~
You can choose to have a scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with it as well.
charged separately~ be sure to drink lots of water yeah!
Rainbow Cake ($9.00)
& yes the long anticipated rainbow cake!
hehehe really happy to see it, served in a plate with a snowman at eh side.
the oiture really don't do justice! yellow lighting sigh~

so it tasted like vanilla-cream kinda flavor,
really light & sweet (:
I just feel happy eating it, the pastel colours and it didn't taste too heavy!
Bliss!

& we took some childhood favs!
It's complementary aka freee!*smiles widely* hehehe
nomnomnom~
we also ordered a side of nachos & cheese to share~ $12 I think
& goodbye to teddy & bunny~

Overall, it is quite a simple & cozy cafe in the Upper Serangoon vicinity.
It can get a little crowded but at least it's not that noisy,
mostly you see students around & I will definitely recommend the rainbow//choc truffle//lava cake!
A great place for some catchup/ small group of friends!
I like the idea of having complementary biscuits ^^
Sorry for not having the price listed for every cakes/drinks cause I couldn't remember

-----
& we had a feast over at Chomp Chomp~
No photos taken though~
Happy X'mas Eve!
